Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Please submit manuscripts in clear and correct English double-spaced in doc or rtf format including tables and figures using the online submission system or by e-mail to: editors@activitas.org

There are no submission fees or page charges.
Submitted manuscript is considered for publication and rapidly peer-reviewed with a statement that it has not been published and it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. After acceptation authors are required to transfer copyright to the publisher and sign copyright transfer form. If material from other copyrighted works is included, authors are responsible for obtaining permission for reproduction of this material in their work.

Please submit manuscripts according to following instructions:
In original articles and short communications please use following structure: Abstract; Introduction; Method; Results; Discussion and References with abstract as a single paragraph that presents background, method, results and conclusions of the article. In review articles use the structure typical for review papers with introduction, conclusion and references with abstract as a single paragraph that summarizes the main findings of the paper. After the abstract please include a list of three to six key words.

Tables and Figures should be numbered in order of appearance with Arabic numerals (Figure 1; Table 1; etc.).
Please cite references in the text by surname(s) of the author(s) and the year of publication- (surname, year). In a case of two authors use “&” along with the names (surname & surname, year). In a case of three authors (surname, surname, & surname, year). In a case of four or more authors use surname of the first author and “et al.” (surname et al., year). In a case of the two or more publications of the same author(s) use alphabetical order a,b,c… surname (2008a) etc.

In the alphabetical reference list please use the APA style:

For a journal article:
Tononi, G., & Edelman, G.M. (2000). Schizophrenia and the mechanisms of conscious integration. Brain Research Reviews, 31, 391–400.
Sporns, O., Tononi, G., & Edelman, G.M. (2002). Theoretical neuroanatomy and the connectivity of the cerebral cortex. Behavioral and Brain Research, 135, 69–74.

For a book:
Hilgard, E.R. (1986). Divided consciousness. Multiple control in human thought and action. New York: Wiley.

For a chapter in an edited book:
Palus, M. (1998). Chaotic measures and real-world systems: Does the Lyapunov exponent always measure chaos?. In: H. Kantz, J. Kurths & G. Mayer-Kress (Eds.), Nonlinear analysis of physiological data, pp. 49-66. Berlin: Springer.

SUBMISSION PREPARATION CHECKLIST

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission’s compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word (.doc), RTF  document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
